Virtual YooMoney card

It's a real bank card but it only exists online.

All virtual cards work online and Mir cards also work offline, for example, in stores and cafes. To pay offline, you need to add your card to Mir Pay (a reviewed or identified user status and Android™ version 9.0 or higher with NFC support required).

The card number, expiration date, and CVC/CVV/CVP2 are stored on the YooMoney website and in the app. To make a payment, enter these details in the online store or subscription service.

Shared balance: how it works

The card and wallet complement each other: they have different numbers but a shared balance.

If you add money to your wallet, you can pay via your card in any online store right away wherever it's supported. If you spend money via the card, your wallet's balance decreases.

You can track the balance on the YooMoney website or in the mobile app.

Pricing, commission, and other conditions

The card is free. It's valid for five years. Some cards that were issued earlier are valid for a longer period (we've extended it due to sanctions). You'll be informed about the exact new expiration date via a separate email. It'll be sent shortly before the current expiration date of the card.

In any case, enter the expiration date printed on the card (the old one) when making payments.

No commission is charged for payments. Exceptions:

  • the online store uses the same MCC as a transfer,

  • you pay via a ruble card outside of Russia (you can learn more below in the "Payments outside of Russia and currency conversion" section),

  • you pay for mobile phone or Internet services.

Commission for transfers from this card is 3% of the amount, but no less than 100 ₽. The commission is applied in the following cases:

  • when you transfer money to a different card,

  • when you add money to your balance in the LiqPay service,

  • when you pay for issuing a virtual card in the Russian Standard Bank, or add money to its balance,

  • when you add money to a Beeline mobile card (card only; phone balance won't do).

Limits depend on your user status in YooMoney:

  • anonymous users can spend up to 15,000 ₽ per transaction,

  • reviewed users can spend up to 60,000 ₽ and make transfers to other cards of up to 15,000 ₽ per transaction,

  • identified users can spend up to 250,000 ₽ per transaction. Monthly limits are 3 million ₽ for transactions and 1,3 million ₽ for transfers (and transactions associated with them).

Cashback

Cashback in bonus points from YooMoney is credited for online and offline payments (for example, at checkout at a store): from 1% to 5% depending on the selected categories.

Check if you have cashback enabled

You can spend instant cashback immediately and almost anywhere you pay via the wallet. 1 bonus point = 1 ₽.

Please note: you need to spend more than 3,000 ₽ per month in order to earn cashback. If you spend less, you won't receive cashback the following month.

Maximum cashback amount you can earn in a month is 3,000 points.

Cashback in rubles from the Mir payment system can be earned only if you have a virtual Mir card. Sign up on the "Privet!" website and start getting up to 30% of the purchase amount back in rubles.

Issuing a card

You can issue a card instantly instantly: find the button in the "Bank Cards" section.

Click the button, enter the code from the text message or push notification, and that's it: the card is now in your wallet. The card number, expiration date, and CVC/CVV/CVP2 are also stored in the "Bank Cards" section on the YooMoney website and in the app.

Please note: to issue a card, you need to have your phone number linked to your wallet.

Using the card (how and where)

Online by card details: the card number, expiration date, and CVC/CVV/CVP2 are stored on our website and in the app. If a store asks for cardholder's name, enter you first and last name in Latin script.

Offline via Mir Pay if you have a virtual Mir card and a reviewed or identified user status. Add your card to Mir Pay, and you'll be able to pay offline at checkout and via payment terminals (for example, to couriers). As soon as you add the card, we'll send you the PIN.

This solution is going to work only if you're using an NFC-compatible phone on Android™ version 9.0 or higher. Otherwise, you won't be able to use your virtual card for offline payments for now. Payments at stores via other virtual cards (other than Mir) are also unavailable at the moment.

How to add a virtual card to Mir Pay

Money is always debited from your wallet, and payments are recorded to wallet's history.

Withdrawing cash

You need to add the virtual card to Mir Pay. It only works if you have a reviewed or identified user status, a virtual Mir card, and an NFC-compatible phone on Android™ version 9.0 or higher. Otherwise, you won't be able to withdraw cash for now. If you use an iPhone, you can order a payment sticker, put it on your phone, and withdraw money with it.

You can withdraw cash at any ATM with NFC support: simply tap your phone against the reader and enter the PIN (we'll send it once you add the card to Mir Pay). The commission is 3%, but no less than 100 rubles.

Payments in non-Russian stores and currency conversion

If you have a virtual Mir card and the reviewed or identified wallet status, you can pay on Russian websites and on websites in those countries where Mir is accepted.

If you haven't provided your passport details yet, your wallet is considered anonymous. Payments from such wallets are only accepted in Russian online stores. It applies to other virtual cards too (other than Mir).

  Check your wallet's status

Besides the usual card details, you may need to specify additional information.

Billing Address is your home address.

Address 1 is your house number, apartment number, and street. For example: 1/11 Moskovskaya Street.

Address 2 is optional. You can specify the district if your city has several streets with the same name.

State is your county or state. For example: Moscow Region or Moskovskaya Oblast.

ZIP or Postal Code.

Virtual cards operate in rubles but you can activate the Multicurrency Cards package: that's 5 more currencies in addition to rubles.

With the package: you buy currency at the rate similar to that of the exchange market. No additional commission is charged. The card switches between accounts automatically and exchanges additional amounts to currency if there's not enough of it for a payment.

The main thing is to have an account opened in the required currency. If you don't have one, rubles will be debited by an increased exchange rate (as if you didn't have the package activated).

Without the package: when you pay in foreign currency, the amount is converted to rubles at the rate of the payment system + 2.9%. The exchange rate depends on your card.

If a seller converts the amount by their own rate (you're shopping in a non-Russian store but the prices are displayed in rubles), the commission of 2.9% will be added to it.

Where the card details are stored

The card number, expiration date, and CVC/CVV/CVP2 are stored on the website and in the app, protected by your codes (for signing in and confirming transactions).

When you view the card number, the CVC/CVV/CVP2 is hidden, and vice versa: when you view the code, the number is hidden. It's done that way so that no one could see all of your card's details at the same time (and use for payments). If you can't see the card details, contact us via the feedback form at the bottom of the page.

If you keep all these details in one place, be careful. The main thing is not to let someone else access the details along with your phone: that's where we send payment confirmation codes.

What to do if your card is lost (or stolen)

The most important thing is that you can cancel your virtual card at any moment. You won't even need a password for it. Click the button in the "Bank Cards" section, and your virtual card will stop working. You will be able to issue a new card with new details in just a couple of minutes.

Cancel the card in the following cases::

  • someone's got access to your card number, expiration date, and CVC/CVV/CVP2,

  • you've lost the phone where text message code for payments via the card are sent.

Speaking of your phone number: if it has changed, don't forget to link it to your wallet and select it as your current number in the settings
