Users Can Now Pay for Mobile Phone Service Straight from Yandex’s Search

September 10, 2013

Customers of the top three Russian mobile operators can now top up their mobile phones straight from Yandex’s search results—commission free. A payment form appears immediately under the search box when a user enters, for example, ‘pay for mobile phone’ (in Russian). The new option is available as a result of Yandex.Money software developers’ enhancements.

Users can pay for phone service with a bank card or Yandex.Money. Funds are credited immediately. Transactions are processed on a page protected according to the standard PCI DSS, so users can be sure their personal details will be secure. When paying with Yandex.Money, users are asked to enter their payment password or a one-time password from a text message. To pay with a bank card, people need to enter the standard details: the card’s number, three-digit CVV2 or CVC2, and the confirmation code sent by the bank in a text message (3D-Secure protection).

Users can also pay for mobile service online on the Yandex.Money website. As of today there’s no extra fee for this type of transaction.
