YooMoney Pay for Android

If you have the YooMoney app for Android and NFC compatible phone, you may use it to pay in supermarkets and cafes with a contactless payment reader. No other app will be needed, just add your cards to YooMoney Pay. This option is available in our Android app starting from version 11.33.0

Getting started

  • From the cards section, proceed to YooMoney Pay. There you'll see all available YooMoney cards.

  • Make sure to tap "Add" next to the card you need to add.

  • Make sure to enable NFC in the phone settings under "NFC and payment", and that YooMoney Pay or YooMoney is set as your main payment method.

What cards can be added

At the moment, only physical and virtual Mir cards from YooMoney are available. You may always issue a free virtual card in the app.

Paying with your phone

Unlock your phone and tap it against the reader. In order to complete the payment, your phone must have a screen lock set. For example, a fingerprint, a code of at least 4 digits, or a graphic key.

Payments over 1,000 ₽ require a PIN. It needs to be set manually when you activate a physical card. For virtual cards, you'll receive the code in a push notification or via text message when adding the card to YooMoney Pay. In any case, you can change the PIN on the card page.

Withdrawing cash

If you have a reviewed or identified user status, you can withdraw cash at NFC compatible ATMs. To do this, tap your unlocked phone against the ATM card reader, enter your PIN, and select the amount.

Card settings in YooMoney Pay

If you tap the added card under the YooMoney Pay section, a settings screen will open. Here you may unlink the card from the service, and set it as the main or additional card. Payments will be charged from the main card (from the wallet balance always). Note: if no main card is set, the payment won't go through.

Why a payment doesn't go through

There are several possible reasons:

  • NFC is off; you need to activate it under your phone settings

  • YooMoney app is not set as the main payment method

  • no cards have been added to YooMoney Pay or no card is set as the main one

  • the card has expired

  • there's not enough money in your wallet or you've reached one of the limits

  • the reader doesn't support contactless payments
