Cashback in bonus points

YooMoney offers two types of cashback: in bonus points (from YooMoney) and in rubles (from our partners). This page is about cashback in points.

The most important information in brief

You earn points for online and offline payments (for example, at checkout at a store). 1 bonus point = 1 ₽. Points allow paying for up to 50% of a purchase in stores where the YooMoney wallet is supported as a payment method.

All you need to do is select the categories of the month on the YooMoney website. You can check your points balance on our website and in the app.

Earnings in percent

If you spend more than 3,000 ₽ a month from your wallet, you will earn cashback in categories of the month: from 1% to 5%.

You can also choose a category to receive 1% cashback on all payments.

In other categories: cashback is 5%.

Users select categories from the list by themselves.

Sometimes we launch promo deals that bring increased cashback: more than 5%.

If you spend less than 3,000 ₽, cashback won't be credited the following month.

If you click the "Enable cashback" button before the 15th day of any month inclusive, we will start counting the expenses immediately. The cashback percentage will be recalculated on the first day of the next month. Until then, you will have the maximum cashback of 1% for regular purchases and 5% in categories of the month.

Example: you clicked the button on September 2. Until October 1, you are provided with the maximum percentage of cashback by default, and on October 1 we will calculate how much you spent in September (not less than 3,000 ₽) and determine the percentage for October.

If you click the "Enable cashback" button after the 15th day, we will start counting the expenses on the first day of the following month. The cashback percentage will be recalculated in a month, but before that you will have the maximum percentages.

Example: you clicked the button on September 17. Until November 1, you are provided with the maximum percentage of cashback by default, and on November 1 we will calculate how much you spent in October and determine the percentage for November.

Maximum cashback you can earn in a month is 3,000 points.

Cases when cashback is not credited

Payments with bonus points

Bonus points can be either earned or spent. When you decide to spend points on a particular payment, cashback for that payment will be disabled.

Payment amount is too small

Points are only counted in whole number and are rounded down, so if the payment amount is not enough for 1 point, no points will be credited.

Minimum amounts for which 1 point is credited:

  • for 1% cashback, 100 ₽

  • for 5% cashback, 20 ₽

If the payment amount is smaller, no cashback is credited.

Payments when the card is linked to the wallet

If you link a card issued by another bank to the wallet, you can use the wallet to pay from the card's balance and earn cashback. But if you're paying via a new card while linking it during the payment process (the "Save in the wallet" box), no cashback is credited: at this point, the card is not linked yet.

For further payments, cashback will be credited in the usual manner, and if you want to earn points for the very first payment, link the new card in advance in the settings

If you use multiple YooMoney wallets for payments

For example, if you have two YooMoney wallets and you use both of them for payments. In this case, cashback is only credited in one of these wallets and not credited in the other one.

Exceptional payment cases

See the list of exceptions in the terms and conditions of the program: if your payment is on the list, cashback won't be credited for it.

Two more details

  • If the payment falls under several categories, you will earn only one type of cashback (with the largest amount). For example, if you buy a refrigerator at an online store, you will receive 1% cashback for the online payment. But if the "Appliances" category is also featured for the month, you will receive 5% for the payment in the category of the month with the initial 1% not being credited.

  • If the payment has a YooMoney commission charge, the cashback is only credited for the payment amount and not the commission amount. Please note: if the amount without commission is too small, no cashback will be credited. For example, you pay 100 ₽ with 5 ₽ being the commission amount. That leaves 95 ₽, in which case there's not enough for 1 point meaning 1% cashback won't be credited.

In online stores where the YooMoney wallet is supported as a payment method

There are rare exceptions where stores accept the wallet as the payment method but don't allow spending bonus points: for example, for money transfers, currency exchange, or adding money to the mobile phone balance. You can find the full list of exceptions in the legal terms and conditions

You can pay for up to 50% of the purchase in bonus points

The total purchase amount is taken into account, not including any potential commission. For example, if you're paying 200 ₽, you can pay up to 100 ₽ in bonus points.

How bonus points are credited when refunds are made

If you request a refund, the payment will be returned exactly as you made it: partly in money, partly in bonus points.

How long are bonus points valid for?

180 days since the last time you paid or added money to the balance. You can see the date when your bonus points are scheduled to expire on our website

In order not to lose your bonus points, add money to the balance, pay via the YooMoney wallet or card or via a linked card at least once every 180 days.
